UNDP office hails cooperation with the Ministry of Interior

Abu Dhabi, July 7, 2010 (WAM)- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far has thanked the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office for its kind initiative to honour the ministry, a gesture that extends to all officials of the ministry.
This came during his reception yesterday at the ministry the UNDP's delegation headed by Elissar Sarrouh, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in the UAE.
Sha'far stressed that the UAE is keen to further boost cooperation and coordination with the UNDP office in the UAE through supporting it to discharge its duties successfully.
On her part, Sarrouh thanked the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and all officials at the ministry for their cooperation with the UN Office for Security and Safety, adding that the support got by the office helped it to perform its duties.
She appreciated huge efforts of the ministry and its constructive cooperation with UNDP in the best interest of two sides. At the end of the meeting, the UN official presented UN shield and appreciation certificate to Lt. General Sha'far, Lt. Col. Dr Jamal Saif Faris, director of the International Cooperation and Major Abdullah Harib Al Mohairi, undersecretary of Lt. General Sha'far. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
