UAE Envoy in Jakarta submits his credentials to Asean Secretary General

Jakarta - July 20, 2010 (WAM)- The Secretary General of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Surin Pitsuwan has received the credential papers of UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Yusuf Omer Al Sharhan as a UAE representative to Asean. During the meeting held here at Asean headquarters, the two officials discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the UAE and Asean in the political, trade, economic, cultural and tourist areas. For his part, the secretary general of Asean expressed his admiration about the urban progress being experienced by the UAE, making it one of the main trade and tourist hubs in the world. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
