UAE's RCA backs international relief efforts in Pakistan
Abu Dhabi, Aug 8, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) says it is coordinating with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on the ongoing humanitarian relief operations to help out tens of thousands of families in Pakistani provinces hit by flash floods which started late July.
RCA said it has provided material support to the Pakistan operation and back the Pakistani Red Crescent to rush aid to about 25000 families affected by the natural disaster in north-west of Pakistan.
Acting Deputy Secretary General of RCA for Relief and Project Naeema Al-Muhairi said RCA is following the international efforts in Pakistan and is working towards improving the humanitarian conditions people affected by the disaster. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
