Human Appeal International launches ''Seeds of Charity in Ramadan'' campaign

Abu Dhabi, Aug Human Appeal International (HAI) has launched its seasonal campaign ''Seeds of Charity in Ramadan'' which comprises a series of charitable programmes including feed the fasting,'' Eid clothing'', zakat al Mal (money) and Ramadan supplies. The Ajman-based charity organisation carry out several charitable projects targeting the needy people inside the UAE and more than 14 Arab and Muslim countries. HAI's Assistant Secretary for financial and Administrative Affairs Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Awadhi said that a budget of Dh1.6 million were set aside for the ''Seeds of Charity in Ramadan'' project under which 150,000 iftar meals will be distributed to the fasting people in 25 places.
Ramadan Supplies worth Dh750,000 will be given to 1500 families inside the country in addition to Eid clothing programme which will cover 5000 beneficiaries at a budget of Dh250,000. HAI's overseas Ramadan project will cover 14 Arab and Islamic countries where 180,000 iftar meals will be distributed with an estimated budget of Dh3.8 million. ''Some 80,000 iftar meals will be distributed at the Aqsa Mosque's yard,'' he added. About Dh1.4 million in the zakat funds will be given to 73,000 persons this year. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
