RCA launches iftar project at 96 locations nationwide

Abu Dhabi, Aug 12, 2010 (WAM)- The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) on Wednesday starts the iftar project at 96 locations nationwide and is set to give out 25000 iftar meals daily worth Dh6.4 million. The project is part of RCA's plans to further promote the values of solidarity and humanitarian giving and philanthropy in the community in the holy month in line with directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The plans receive support from H.H General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and are followed up on by H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region '&' Chairman of RCA.
RCA committed a total of Dh28 million in funds for its domestic and overseas iftar projects for Ramadan this year. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
