RCA sends 70 tons of aid to Pakistan
Abu Dhabi, Aug 30, 2010 (WAM)- The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will send 35 tons of essential relief supplies to floods-victims in Pakistan. The plane carrying these humanitarian assistance will leave here to Peshawar on Monday and another haul of similar amount will fly on Tuesday as part of the RCA's air bridge to alleviate suffering of population affected by floods and boost relief efforts there in implementation of instructions by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
An RCA field team will oversee distribution of these relief items in the north west of Pakistan. The team will also assess the situation on the ground and secure urgent needs from the UAE or the local markets in Pakistan – Emirates News Agency, WAM
