Kalima issues Arabic version of two Books on American Constitution

Abu Dhabi, Aug 31, 2010 (WAM)- Kalima, a major translation initiative by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, has issued the Arabic version of two books on the American constitution, "Unruly Americans and the Origins of the Constitution" by Woody Holton and "The Summer of 1787: The Men Who Invented the Constitution" by David O. Stewart.
This series offers a great knowledge in the field of constitutions for Arab readers, especially in the area of actual conditions that have enabled other nations to achieve values of modernity and civic life. Besides, the two books are bestsellers and have received world awards.
The books presents a model for accurate historical study based on sources and references, which have reached over thousand and one hundred medium-sized cases.
It should be mentioned that Woody Holton, is an Associate Professor of History and American Studies, and he earned his PhD from Duke University, while the translator is Abu Yarub Al Marzouqi, a Professor of Greek and Arabic Philosophy. He has several books in Arabic and French, and has translated from French, German and English.
On the other hand, David O. Stewart has practiced law in Washington, D.C., for more than a quarter of a century, defending accused criminals and challenging government actions as unconstitutional. His book "The Summer of 1787: The Men Who Invented the Constitution" was translated by Mahmoud bu Hilal, holding a PhD in literature from the ideology of Abu Hamid al-Ghazali and Mahfouz Al Arem, holder of a seal university studies in language, literature and English civilization.
