Canadian team of Edmonton Expo 2017 visits UAE Pavilion at Expo Shanghai

Shanghai - Sept 6, 2010 (WAM)- A high-ranking delegation from the preparatory committee of the Canada Expo 2017 has toured the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai, China, for discussions on ways of joint cooperation. Expo Canada will be staged in Edmonton, Canada's second most populous provincial capital after Toronto.
The Canadian delegation was welcomed by Abdullah Al Aidrous, Deputy Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion, who briefed them on the UAE outstanding participation and wonderful experiment at Expo Shanghai. The two sides explored avenues of joint cooperation in regarding to Canada hosting of the Expo 2017.
Al Aidrous then took members of the Canadian delegation on a tour of the UAE pavilion where they watched documentaries on the past, present and future of the UAE and its cultural and socio-economic achievements.
Al Aidrous said arrangements were underway for organising the UAE Day at Expo Shanghai, which falls on 27th September. ''All resources and potentials were mobilised to render the celebration a success, ''he added.
He said that commissioners general and directors of pavilions, consuls of GCC member states and friendly countries to attend the occasion. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
