Bishop Issac hails tolerance in UAE

Abu Dhabi, Sept 6, 2010 (WAM)- Bishop Issac Al Anba Bishoy, pastor of the Al Anba Antonio Cathedral Church lauded the UAE's role in promoting religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence and the respect of other cultures and faiths.
Speaking on behalf of the head of Egypt's Orthodox Church, Pope Shenouda III, at the Iftar banquet held at the cathedral, Bishop Isaac said the top UAE leadership, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates have followed the example of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, who laid the foundation of the tolerant approach to establish real co-existence among nationals of over 230 countries.
The Iftar was attended by Dr Hamdan Musallam Al-Mazrou'ei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowment (Awqaf), Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE Thamer Mansour, representatives of the Presidential Court, the court of the H.H the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi – Emirates News Agency, WAM
