Sheikh Zayed Mosque opened in Mauritania
Nouakchott - Sept 6, 2010 (WAM)- A new mosque was inaugurated Friday at the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in the Mauritanian capital. The mosque, which was built with funding from the Red Crescent Authority and under the supervision of the UAE embassy, has been named Sheikh Zayed Mosque in remembrance of the founding father of UAE the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Acting Charge d' Affairs at the UAE embassy in Nouakchott Ali Abdullah Dahmash and a number of officials at the hospital.
The hospital director expressed gratitude to the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates for building the mosque in the hospital complex, which is located in a densely populated neighbourhood.
The Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Nouakchott is a milestone and a strong testimony to the strength and depth of relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
