Abu Dhabi Police to celebrate 32nd anniversary of the establishment of female police force

Abu Dhabi, Sept 14, 2010 (WAM)- Thirty two years have passed since the commissioning of the first batch of female police cadets in Abu Dhabi, and the AD Police is all set to celebrate the anniversary with a handful of events, which will portray the successful march of police women across three decades.
It was in September 1978 the first batch of policewomen graduated, marking a transformation in the entire concept of policing. To commemorate this major achievement, AD Police will hold a special two-day event at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi under the slogan 'Our past, Heritage and Treasure'.
Director General of Human Resources and Acting Director of Police Operations at the AD Police Brigadier-General Mohammed bin Al-Awadi said that the events will continue for two weeks at various public places across the emirate, thus shining light on the achievements of the policewomen and their dedication to the homeland security.
The establishment of police force from among the women reflected the belief of our supreme leadership in the role of the female element in our march of progress and development, he added. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
