DIFF forges ties with film commissions of Italy, France, Germany and Spain

Dubai, Sept 30, 2010 (WAM)- In a significant move, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), the leading and largest of its kind in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, has initiated cooperation with the film governing conglomerate Capital Regions for Cinema (CRC), opening doors for Arab filmmakers to key European markets and increased access to Arab audience for European films.
The CRC, a network of the film agencies of Berlin-Brandenburg, the Comunidad de Madrid, Paris-Ile de France and Rome-Lazio, was created in 2005 to support and facilitate European co-production and distribution. The CRC plays a key role in organising meetings between European producers, government representatives and business development platforms.
DIFF's relationship with the CRC paves the way for more collaboration with European markets and networks, and ensures reciprocal advantages for Arab film communities. CRC members, largely producers, distributors and post-production companies, will participate in the Dubai Film Market, the first and only comprehensive film market in the Arab world, in December 2010.
CRC will highlight funding opportunities from its core markets - France, Germany, Italy and Spain - and potentially build new collaborative ventures.
The seventh edition of Dubai International Film Festival 2010 will be held from December 12 to 19. DIFF 2010 is held in association with Dubai Studio City and supported by the Dubai Culture '&' Arts Authority. Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Pearl, Emirates Airline and Madinat Jumeirah are the principal sponsors of DIFF.
