Masdar jointly hosts VIP dinner at Tower of London

London - October 21, 2010 (WAM)- Last night, Masdar co-sponsored a VIP reception and dinner at the Tower of London, one of London's oldest and most prestigious landmarks. The exclusive 100-guest dinner - including notable UAE dignitaries - capped off the first day of the European Future Energy Forum, which united some of the world's foremost leaders in the renewable energy and clean technology sectors. The dinner was co-hosted by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the UK government's international trade promotion arm, UK Trade and Investment.
"The dinner reception convened respective leaders from the non-profit, policy, energy and investment communities and was an opportunity to network and collaborate about how the world will collectively address its energy challenges," said Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, CEO and managing director of Masdar.
"Discoveries in renewable energy and clean technology will not be driven by one country alone," said Al Jaber. "We must encourage global participation at every opportunity if we are to strike a balance that maintains a vibrant economy and a healthy environment", he added.
During the reception, Lord David Howell, the British politician and UK minister of state for commonwealth affairs, joined Dr. Al Jaber at the podium to welcome UAE dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, CEO of TAQA.
