Abdullah bin Zayed meets Vietnam Prime Minister, Foreign Minister
Hanoi - Oct 24 2010 (WAM)- UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Hanoi on Saturday Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to the Vietnamese Premier greetings of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his wishes for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Vietnam. They reviewed a number of issues of common interest and discussed ways for strengthening bilateral ties between UAE and Vietnam, especially in the field of economy, investment and energy.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed hope that his visit will open wider horizons of cooperation between the two countries both in the private and public sectors.
The Vietnamese Premier sent his regards and greetings to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and expressed desire for bolstering relations between the two countries. They discussed ways for enhancing cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, renewable energy.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the keenness of UAE in strengthening relations with Vietnam in the best interests of the people in both countries. He also highlighted during the talks, the geographic importance of UAE and the vast potentials it offers.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister stressed his country's interest in bolstering relations and cooperation with UAE. He said that the visit by Sheikh Abdullah will have great role in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
Sheikh Abdullah also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam Pham Gia Khiem.
They discussed ways for enhancing relations between the two countries, especially in the avenues of economy, trade, investment, tourism, aviation, infrastructure and industry. They also discussed a number of issues of mutual concern.
The two foreign ministers also stressed the need for the relevant authorities from both sides to be well-prepared for the first meeting of the Viet Nam - UAE Joint Committee slated for next month. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
