GCAA signs air services agreement with Botswana

Dubai, Oct 25, 2010 (WAM)- The United Arab Emirates, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority initialled recently Air Services Agreement (ASA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Botswana.
Omar Bin Ghalib, Deputy Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority signed the MoU on behalf of UAE government, and Lt Col. Moakohi K. Modisanyne, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport '&' communications signed on behalf Botswana government.
The objective of the ASA,s is to strengthen co-operation in air services between UAE and Botswana, and to facilitate air services by the designated carriers from UAE "Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, RAK airways, and Fly Dubai" and the Airlines of Botswana in due course .
The two parties also agreed on the principles of governing operations of agreed services, exercise of fifth freedom traffic rights and on avoidance of double taxation. The UAE delegation attended the signing GCAA with many members representing UAE aviation sector. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
