Abu Dhabi Summit will serve as turning point in GCC drive: Al Attiya
Abu Dhabi, Dec 5, 2010 (WAM)- The GCC leaders will gather here on 6-7 December 2010 for their 31st summit under the presidency of UAE President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Abu Dhabi is hosting the leaders as the group completed three decades of qualitative achievements towards the path of full-fledged coordination, cooperation and integration.
Speaking about this momentous event, GCC Secretary General Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Attiya, described the Abu Dhabi Summit as a turning point in the GCC joint action in all domains.
Al Attiyah paid homage to the GCC leaders for their consistent support for the advancement of the GCC since its creation until it has become a signature, well-established structure with its staggering achievements serving as a strong testimony of the indomitable determination and perseverance in reaching the aspired targets and integration.
Recalling the meeting of the founding fathers of the GCC under chairmanship of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the GCC chief said the Abu Dhabi summit had prompted the then wise leaders to think deeply and seriously of having a common decision and stance politically, economically, developmentally, culturally, militarily and environmentally.
''Again, the Abu Dhabi Summit will be exemplary and stand tall with its expected resolutions especially in the economic and developmental files,'' Al Attiya affirmed. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
