ADACH launches Council of Photographers in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, Dec 8, 2010 (WAM)- The Department of Culture and Arts in the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) announced the launch of Photographers Council, which was founded in Abu Dhabi.
The Council aims to provide comprehensive support to photographers taking part in all relevant forums and art competitions, both international and local. The most prominent of these competitions is the Emirates Photography Competition (EFC), organised by ADACH under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
The Council holds a weekly meeting every Monday at the Photography Hall. This is located in ADACH atelier at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi. The meeting is held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, and the works of emerging Emirati talents are presented. Guidance and artistic criticism can be given by professionals with expertise in the art of photography.
The Council offer a range of seminars and lectures on the subject of planning in the field of photography, and the works of top photographers from all over the world are publicised so that others can learn from them.
Presentations on International competitions will be held in the Council too. These events can use the facilities provided by the Council to publicise their timetables and conditions to participants. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
