Abdullah bin Zayed signs two agreements in Venezuela
Caracas - Dec 13, 2010 (WAM)- Visiting UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks here yesterday with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro over mechanisms for boosting avenues of joint cooperation in areas of investment, tourism, economy, oil, energy and food industries. The two ministers signed an agreement for joint economic cooperation.
A memorandum of understanding for political consultations was also inked.
Venezuela government website reported a one million dollar donation offered by the UAE in support of more than 120 families displaced by recent torrential rains that lashed the country.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro lauded the UAE generous gesture, affirming that it would give a boost to housing projects for IDPs. He described the maiden visit of Sheikh Abdullah to Caracas as historic. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
