UAE Ambassador to Pakistan lays foundation stone for building Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Bridge

Swat - Dec 23, 2010 (WAM)- Upon the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Saif Sultan Al Awani yesterday laid the foundation stone for the rebuilding of a bridge constructed nearly forty years ago on the River Swat. The bridge has been named after UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The rebuilding of the bridge comes within the UAE project to assist Pakistan under the benevolent endeavours undertaken by the UAE to help the Arab and Islamic countries.
Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, Director of the UAE Project to help Pakistan confirmed that giving the name of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa on this important and vital bridge comes within the gratitude and appreciation of the Pakistani people for his noble and important humanitarian and development initiatives to help them. Moreover, people living in Swat expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on this generous initiative that will remain embedded in their souls. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
