Abu Dhabi, Jan 11, 2011 (WAM) - The UAE Red Crescent Authority has stepped up its relief operations among the people who were displaced by last year’s heavy floods in Pakistan.
A large quantity of foodstuff, shelter materials and heating sets were handed out to thousands of families at Dado and Juhi cities in Sindh province of Pakistan.
The RCA move is in view of the winter season.
Saleh Al Jabri, the RCA delegate to Pakistan, supervised the distribution of the relief materials like food, which included rice, flour, sugar, edible oil, lentils, dates and canned food, covers, blankets, woollen clothes and heating sets.
The RCA also distributed readymade food, milk and garments for babies and children.
The relief was given out in coordination with the UAE Consulate in Pakistan and the Red Pakistan Crescent Society. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
