Mohammed bin Zayed receives Hillary Clinton
Abu Dhabi, Jan 11, 2011 (WAM)- General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received yesterday afternoon, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the accompanying delegation currently visiting the country as part of a regional tour.
During the meeting, which was attended by Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed stressed the keenness of UAE under the leadership of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen distinguished relations with the US in various avenues.
They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, culture, science and technology. They also reviewed the overall situation in the region and the world as well as the latest developments in the Middle East peace process, and other issues of common concern.
The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing the chances of peace in the Middle East and the support to the international efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Clinton asserted her country's keenness on strengthening strategic ties with the UAE in all fields and expressed sincere wishes to President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for health and wellness.
