UAE charity drive arrives in Egypt

Abu Dhabi, Jan 16, 2011 (WAM)- The worldwide humanitarian campaign launched last year by UAE to offer health care services to needy children worldwide will offer free treatment to 440 poor Egyptian children and elderly people.
There, specialist doctors and paediatric surgeons volunteering for the Emirates World Humanitarian Hospital, who arrived in Egypt on Friday as part of an international humanitarian mission that will also take visit other countries, will treat 400 children and perform surgeries on 40 other adult patients as necessary.
The global giving drive, which is being implemented under the patronage of H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of General Women's Union, was launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), during the Arab Giving forum and third Conference of Social Responsibility held in May 2010 in Abu Dhabi.
CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Executive Director of the Emirates Global Humanitarian Mobile Hospital said the campaign's team will perform will visit Egyptian remote villages and towns. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
