UAE Force in Afghanistan rolls out mobile clinic service
Abu Dhabi, Jan 17, 2011 (WAM) - The UAE Force in Afghanistan has set up a mobile medical unit in coordination with the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) to provide healthcare services as part of its mission to secure and deliver humanitarian assistance, support reconstruction, and maintain stability and security in Afghanistan.
The fully-equipped team will tour various regions of Afghanistan to carry out curative programmes targeting the most vulnerable groups.
The team rolled out its campaign in Barwan State where around 100 patients are treated daily.
Commander of the Force said the mobile clinic was launched as part of the UAE humanitarian assistance to improve the health and living conditions of the Afghani people. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
