UAE, Bangladesh sign agreements on avoidance of double taxation, investments promotion

Abu Dhabi, Jan 18, 2011 (WAM)- The UAE and Bangladesh have signed two agreements on avoidance of double taxation on income and promotion of investments. The agreements were signed yesterday by UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, in presence of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed.
Earlier, Sheikh Abdullah met with Sheikh Hasina Wajed and discussed with her ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic, commercial and renewable energy fields.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed the hope that the visit of Bangladeshi Prime Minister would open more opportunities for cooperation between the private sectors in the two countries.
For her part, Sheikh Hasina Wajed expressed her country's desire to develop ties with the UAE and to benefit from the latter's unique position in the world's economic and commercial maps. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
