UAE delivers medical equipment to hospital close to Libyan-Tunisian borders
Tunis - March 14, 2011 (WAM) - The UAE on Sunday delivered more medical equipment to the local hospital of Tunisian Ben Gardan town on the borders with Libya. The equipment which are a grant from The Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation will enable the hospital to use an intensive care unit for the first time to accommodate 6 critical patients. The ceremony held at the hospital to mark the delivery was attended by the UAE ambassador to Tunisia Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Suwaidi and Tunisian officials. Expressing thanks for the UAE's gesture, director of the hospital Dr. Salem Anibi said this is the first time the hospital has new medical equipment in 50 years of operation. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
