Traffic Awareness City inaugurated in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, March 15, 2011 (WAM) - Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of the Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police's General Headquarters opened here yesterday the Traffic Awareness City. The launch of the city is part of the Traffic Week Celebration of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States in Abu Dhabi.
Cutting the inauguration ribbon, Al Menhali said, "the protection of children and ensuring their safety on the road and in the vehicles is one of the main issues given priority by the Abu Dhabi Police's strategic traffic safety." He stressed the importance of making the traffic awareness programmes attractive to children to become an important component of their traffic culture. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
