UAE takes part in Libya Summit in Paris
Paris - March 20, 2011 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iraq, Jordan and Morocco took part in the emergency international summit in Paris on Saturday to back the Libyan people. French President Nicolas Sarkozy extended the invitation to world leaders as nations prepare to participate in the no-fly zone on Libya and a coordinated military intervention in Libya.
The United Arab Emirates will be represented to the summit by Minister of Foreign Affairs H.H Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Qatar, Iraq, Jordan and Morocco will also be represented by their foreign ministers.
Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Mousa will also take part in the summit along with U.N Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy as well as 9 European countries represented by Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron and the prime ministers of Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
