Arab world is going through extraordinary circumstances, says Abdullah bin Zayed

Abu Dhabi, March 22, 2011 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs has said that Arab world is going through extraordinary circumstances which will have significant implications and long-term effects on the region.
He said this in his inaugural speech at the 16th annual conference of Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) entitled "Global Strategic Developments: A Futuristic Vision" which opened here yesterday in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah.
The conference is being held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President of ECSSR.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed his hope that the conference will be a tributary of foreseeing the future in light of the changes taking place in the region wishing to have the opportunity to formulate ideas and theses on the future of the region.
H.R.H. Prince Turki Al Faisal, Chairman of King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies in Saudi Arabia, Abdul Rahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of ECSSR along with a number of senior officials attended the opening ceremony. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
