Zayed Charity Initiative flags off 'Talahum' caravan

Abu Dhabi, May 1, 2011 (WAM) - The Zayed Giving Charity initiative has flagged off a campaign for social cohesion under the name 'Talahum' to promote community services in the fields of healthcare, education, environment and family, in manifestation of the call by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for social cohesion. The campaign is organised in partnership with public and private sector institutions and non-profit organisations across UAE.
Dr. Adel Al Shamari, Executive Director of the Zayed Giving Charity said in a statement made on this occasion that the campaign is one of the several initiatives of the Charity, which has extended many services in this field at domestic and global levels.
The Zayed Giving Charity, which enjoys the support and patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority has floated numerous initiatives aimed at absorbing the youth into volunteering in humanitarian operations.
The convoys touring the UAE as part of the campaign will contribute to activate the concept of community partnership between the Public and Private sectors, thus translating the vision of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces for nurturing the culture of charity and volunteering. The month-long initiative will have the participation of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior, with cooperation from a number of institutions both public and private sectors. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
