Over 10 TV Channels to offer live coverage of Arab Media Forum 2011
More than 10 television channels will offer live coverage of the Arab Media Forum (AMF)2011. For the first time ever, the AMF website will also provide real-time streaming of the two-day event that is set to raise curtains on 17 May, organisers at Dubai Press Club (DPC) announced yesterday.
In addition, DPC has made provision for more than 200 television channels, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, agencies and web sites to provide media updates direct from the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
DPC has extended technical support to six television channels under the umbrella of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) for facilitating live broadcasts of the programmes. Dubai TV will air AMF discussions through its segment ‘Dubai This Morning', while Sama Dubai, Noor Dubai and Dubai One TV will relay the opening ceremony and the gala Arab Journalism Awards. Sama Dubai TV will also host a number of guests from the forum on its programmes ‘Good Morning my Country' ‘The Marina' and ‘The End of the Week', while Dubai One TV will concurrently provide special reports and interviews with AMF guests on its programmes ‘Studio One', ‘24/7' and ‘20 Something'. In addition, interviews and special reports will also be aired on ‘World Top', a Dubai TV special.
Mona El Shazly, a renowned media figure and AMF panellist in a session on the Egyptian media, will broadcast two episodes of her programme that airs on Dream 2 TV. Taleb Kanan from Al-Arabiya TV will document the AMF live from the venue on its programme ‘Dialogue of the Arabs'. Taleb is also participating in the AMF as a moderator for the session titled "The Ability of the Arab Media to keep up with Events and Variables".
Media figures Marcel Ghanem, Sheriff Amer and Zaven Kouyoumdjian are set to broadcast an episode of their respective programmes live from AMF 2011. Ghanem's programme ‘Directly with Marcel Ghanem' airs on LBC TV, while Sherrif Amer's programme titled ‘Life Today' broadcasts on Hayat TV, and Kouyoumdjian anchors ‘Sireh wo Enfatahet' on Future TV. An Egyptian TV channel has also confirmed providing direct coverage of the forum.
The AMF team will work to facilitate the interviews with guests and speakers for all TV networks. Themed ‘Arab Media: Riding out the Storms of Change', AMF 2011 is expected to witness 60 global speakers taking the podium with the participation of more than 2,400 delegates including media experts from newspapers, television, radio and the academia. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
