UAE dispatches planeload of medical aid to displaced Libyans

Abu Dhabi, May 22, 2011 (WAM) - A UAE plane carrying medicines, medical materials and equipment left Friday to Tunisia as part of the aid programme offered to the displaced Libyan citizens in Tunisia. The 38 -ton aid materials were provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KHF) and UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA). They will be distribute to the hospitals at the Tunisian-Libyan borders to assist in the treatment of the Libyans who moved to Tunisia. The two organisations have made available hundreds of tons of medical supplies, bought from the local markets in Tunisia, in support to the efforts of providing medical treatment to the injured people and to those who suffer chronic diseases like kidney failure. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
