Gargash addresses UAE-UK All Party Parliamentary Group's annual meeting

London - May 22, 2011 (WAM) - Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash met here yesterday with the members of UAE-UK All Party Parliamentary Group. The meeting was held in presence of UAE Ambassador to the UK Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee. Gargash also attended the Group's annual meeting, during which, Lord Howells was elected chairman of the Group.
In his speech before the meeting, Dr Gargash stressed the deep-rooted bilateral ties between the UAE and the UK. He underlined UAE's standpoint about the recent developments in the Middle East. "I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to this distinguished group of prominent members of parliament. The recent turmoils in the region have underpinned the strong ties between our countries," he said. Gargash expressed the hope that the group will continue its vital role of enhancing interaction among law makers in the UAE and the UK. The UAE-UK All Party Parliamentary Group is an informal grouping, which brings together members of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords who are interested in the UAE and its relations with the UK. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
