Mohammed bin Rashid reaffirms Japan ties

Tokyo, May 30, 2011 (WAM) - On the second day of his visit to Japan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, toured several places of historical importance including tourist attractions and markets in the Capital Tokyo where he was greeted by the Traditional Japanese way.
Sheikh Mohammed admired Japanese culture that reflects the renaissance of its society through facing challenges, achieving prosperity, Industry revolution and Technology developments in order to achieve international recognition in various fields.
UAE prime minister during his visit met a number of Japanese Officials and Businessmen and discussed friendly and historical relations between UAE and Japan, stressing the keenness of the UAE President, government and people in developing these relations for the benefit of both countries.
The Japanese TV channel One conducted an interview of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which dealt with a number of local, global, and economic topics in addition to the historical ties between UAE and Japan spanning decades.
He also asserted that the UAE economy has been well beyond the consequences of the global financial crisis and recovered through the remarkable growth of our national economy in the last year and this year due to the careful and wise policy pursued by the UAE to address the global crisis.
He also praised the Japanese economy and the achievement of sustained growth and progress in various sectors, especially in terms of the advanced industrial renaissance and financial investment noting the ability of the Japanese economy on the global competition. Finally, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that the UAE welcomes Japanese companies and businessmen who are performing well in various economic, financial and technological sectors of the country and are contributing positively towards strengthening the strategic partnership between UAE and Japan. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
