Children's City launches summer activities 2011

Dubai, June 27, 2011 (WAM) - Children's City of Dubai Municipality on Sunday launched its Summer Activities 2011 with an array of activities for children and visitors to the emirate of Dubai during the summer holidays.
The activities are organised under the slogan "Our Summer With Murshid" in cooperation with a number of sponsors
Ms. Nila Mansouri, head of Children's City said that the events would continue until July 23 on daily basis at 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. "Dubai Municipality is keen to provide programmes beneficial for children during this period so that they can utilise their holidays usefully in an excellent recreational, cultural and informational environment, managed by supervisors with high calibre and competency," she said.
The programs are divided into four weeks with particular title for each week. The title of first week is ‘Around the World' from 26 June to 2 July. It includes diversified activities such as Meet Cartoonists, Fun with Balloons, Let's Play, and Traditional Hospitality, in addition to exhibitions of UAE, Kuwait, Sudan, India, Folkloric Show, Healthy Hands, Magic, Fun Time and Identify Cultures.
The second week is titled ‘Sports Power' from 3 to 9 July, which includes Magic Show, Fun with Balloons, sporting events, Memorabilia by Al Wasl club, Water Pitch, Football, Climb Peaks, Table Tennis.
Third week would be under the title ‘Crazy Kitchen' from July 10 to 16, which includes Yammi (food recipes for children), Fun with balloons, Magic, Your Health in Your Hand, Compete with Yusuf al-Sharif, and Come on Celebrate. Moreover, the Mid-Sha'ban activity "Hag Al Lailah" would be also organised in the end of third week.
The last week is titled ‘Art World' from July 17 until 23, which includes Giant Painting and Artistic Surprises in cooperation with Sharjah Museums Department, Magic, Fun with Balloons, Arabic Calligraphy, Islamic Art, Face Painting, Sand Painting, Art of Cartoon, In addition to the closing ceremony of summer activities.
"The programmes charted out by the Children's City are quite different from other summer programmes as the families can leave their children at the Children's City without any worries." Al Mansouri said. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
