Nelson Mandela International Day celebrated in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, July 13, 2011 (WAM) - South Africa's embassy in the UAE, in collaboration with the 'Nahtam Social Responsibility' Society and United Nations Development Programme, opened yesterday in Abu Dhabi the celebrations marking the Nelson Mandela International Day. The opening ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps and a large gathering of general public. As part of the celebrations, they rolled out a 67-metre long fabric decorated by a number of pictures of Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan alongside Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa.
