Dubai's non-oil trade surges

Dubai, July 13, 2011 (WAM) - Dubai's non-oil trade with the world shot up by 30pc to reach worth Dh235bn in the first quarter of this year as compared to Dh180bn in the same period last year and Dh159bn in 2009. The latest figures released by Dubai Customs showed that Dubai's imports during the first quarter of the current year surged by more than 40pc with Dh29bn as compared to Dh20bn during the period from January to April in 2010.
The re-exports also increased during this period by 38pc with a total value of more than Dh61bn compared to Dh44bn during the same period in 2010. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
