Turkmen power structures reshuffled

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made significant staff changes in the power structures of the country.

According to the presidential decree, Colonel Meretgerdi Berdiyev was dismissed from his position of chairman of the State Customs Service and was transferred to the Ministry of Defence.
According to another decree, lieutenant colonel Annamuhammet Hojamgulyev was appointed chairman of the State Customs Service. Earlier, this he was chairman of the State Migration Service.
According to the signed documents, Colonel Jepbar Akiyev was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence - Chief of the Department under the Defense Ministry and dismissed from his position of Deputy Defense Minister - Chief of the Turkmen Main Department of Civil Defence and Rescue Operations. Major Yusuf Muhammetkulyev was appointed to this position.
Turkmenistan's military doctrine is defensive. It corresponds to the status of permanent neutrality.
