President: Turkmenistan will provide country's population with fully equipped apartments

Turkmenistan has set a task to ensure the country's population with apartments complete with conveniences. The construction of private houses in towns and villages is of great importance to the state, Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov said in his letter to participants of the International Exhibition "Turkmengurlushyk-2011" and the scientific conference "Development of construction industry of Turkmenistan", which opened in Ashgabat.
"Thanks to this, our state is transformed into an economically prosperous country, ensuring a further level of welfare and happiness of the people", the letter reads.
He said "world-class modern factories, universities, and high schools, scientific and medical centers, residential homes, luxury apartments, fine cultural centers, resorts, parks, sports complexes, and hundreds of other objects" are being constructed and opened in Ashgabat, the country’s regions, and districts.

Dozens of foreign companies and firms operate in Turkmenistan, along with domestic enterprises.

In accordance with the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030, the country expands construction of socio-economic objects, roads, infrastructure, and life support facilities in the country’s various regions.

"The growing volume of construction work makes it necessary to ensure the industry of building materials", Berdimuhammedov said, noting that an effective solution to this problem is to create a new enterprise for building materials, reconstruct those existing, and equip manufacturing facilities with new technology and equipment.

Turkmenistan will consider ways of further developing a partnership between Turkmen and foreign experts for mutual learning, academics, and professionals.

It was reported that over 2,000 facilities, worth nearly $48 billion, are being built in Turkmenistan.
