Turkmen president severely reprimands Supreme Control Chamber head

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Supreme Control Chamber (SCC) and severely reprimanded the chamber’s chairman - Batyr Atdaev, the Turkmen government said on Saturday.
The SCC submitted a report to the government on the results of inspections of the state of major facilities in the country, which are scheduled to open on eve of celebrations of the 20th anniversary of independence, marked on Oct. 27.
The report says that Berdimuhammadov reminded that the Supreme Control Chamber’s responsibilities include "ensuring proper control over the construction of important facilities and compliance with the terms of their timely commissioning, which especially concern new anniversary buildings."
The Supreme Control Chamber was established in 2007 "to intensify control over fulfillment of normative legal acts of Turkmenistan on financial and economic activity, legality and efficiency of use and disposal of state property and financial resources".
