Turkmenistan marks 10th anniversary of Ruhnama

Turkmenistan today marks the Ruhnama Day and the 10th anniversary of the publication of Ruhnama, which was written by Ex-President Saparmurat Niyazov.
At the recent governmental meeting, President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov ordered to celebrate this date ‘as an important event’. He said the Ruhnama has become a spiritual code of the Turkmen people for many years.
An international conference "Harmony of national and universal values in the epoch of new Revival" is timed to this date.
In his address on this occasion, Berdimuhammedov congratulated the participants of the international conference. "National and universal values are the basic measures determining the harmonious development of any society and level of the spiritual- moral education of the youth," the address reads.
All central squares of Ashgabat and the regional centers will host ceremonies to mark the Ruhnama Day.
The Ashgabat Concert Center will host the most solemn ceremony- Gala Concert organized by the Ashgabat City Administration, the Culture and Broadcasting Ministry and Education Ministry.
Niyazov's Ruhnama was translated into dozens of languages. The book presents an overview of customs of the Turkmen people and the definition of moral, family, social and religious norms of modern Turkmen people in everyday life.
The treatise consists of moral teachings and philosophical reflections, legends and historical tours.
