Abdullah bin Zayed hails inauguration of Gemasolar plant

Asheville - Oct 5, 2011 (WAM) - H. H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister stressed that the UAE is looking forward to participating in the best technological programmes and projects, including the renewable energy. He referred to the importance of exploiting renewable energy sources and develop technologies used in exploiting such energies to sustain the sustainable development process.
Sheikh Abdullah was speaking to Abu Dhabi TV Channel during the inauguration of Gemasolar Power Plant by His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He added that the UAE has exhibited that its interest to develop the renewable is not confined to present, but also for future, indicating that the UAE through Masdar has scored many achievements. "Masdar cooperates with other partners. The evidence is the solar energy project in Spain." The UAE Foreign Minister said that "acquiring knowledge is an objective from this project, through which we can enhance capabilities of Emiratis, in addition to the economic benefit, which ensures purchase of power after production." He noted that Gemasolar plant is an important step for developing and growth of solar energy in the renewable energy industry. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
