Iran refuses to grant visa to EU

Iran refused to grant a visa to the European parliamentarians to visit Iran, RFE's Persian-language service, Radio Farda quoted MEP from Finland Tarja Cronberg as saying. Cronberg was supposed to lead the parliamentary delegation to Iran.
She said the European lawmakers' five-day trip to Iran scheduled for late October was canceled on Wednesday.
This is the third time when the MEPs' trip to Iran canceled because of Iran's refusal to grant visas.
Cronberg said the Iranian government did not provide us with information about the reasons for the refusal.
"The European Parliament is keen to negotiate with the Iranian parliamentarians before elections, but the third refusal to grant visas for EU lawmakers is disappointing, " she said.
The delegation planned to discuss in Iran the countr's nuclear program, human right, drug smuggling, ecology and energy issues.
