Int’l energy projects to be discussed in Ashgabat
Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Nov. 16 / Trend H. Hasanov /
The international conference opens in Ashgabat on Wednesday.
The agenda includes the issues of developing Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry for 20 years of independence and the prospects of international cooperation.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is the organizer of the conference. About 500 representatives from oil, gas and service companies from Azerbaijan, the U.S, Russia, Great Britain, China, France, UAE, Japan, several European countries, etc. will attend the forum.
The concerned parties will discuss many issues relating to the cooperation in the fuel and energy complex.
The workshop was held on various aspects of national legislation and taxation in the oil and gas field, especially the investment climate in Turkmenistan, wide opportunities and various aspects of the international partnership.
"The Turkmen market is very attractive for representatives of international business circles due to huge hydrocarbon reserves and favorable investment climate created in the country," the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said on Wednesday.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that the event will be another good opportunity to determine promising areas of joint work on mutually beneficial terms with anyone who wishes to become the country's partner.
Turkmenistan has recently implemented a number of major projects in the gas transportation infrastructure. The gas pipeline to China was commissioned in December 2009. An additional branch to Iran appeared in January 2010. It expanded the energy sale market.
The additional gas pipeline to Russia (Caspian - via Kazakhstan), Europe (Nabucco - via the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan) and India (the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline via Pakistan) are among the discussed projects.
