Iran, China radio to promote cooperation

TEHRAN,Nov. 16 (MNA) -- The Iranian radio network of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and China National Radio (CNR) discussed further cooperation during a meeting in Tehran on Sunday. IRIB Deputy Director of Radio Mohammad-Hossein Soufi and the China National Radio President Wang Qiu attended the meeting. During the meeting, Soufi pointed to the ancient civilization of both nations saying that their historical background can be a mutual point for their future cooperation. “The radio network of IRIB is comprised of national, local and international sections. In the national section, 500 programs which is about 460 hours, are broadcast each day,” he said. The IRIB has general, special and expertise radio networks. Some networks focus on fields like health and economy and others are dedicated to different group of people like youth, culture fans, he added. He said that Iranian radio stations are available online to boost Persian and Islamic culture around the world. “The CNR has an audience of about 700 million in China and has different networks dedicated to youth, commercials, subway, fiction, music and markets,” Wang Qiu mentioned during the meeting. At the meeting, Soufi and Wang Qiu urged further cooperation between the national radio networks of the two countries and the signing of agreements.
