Britain’s obedience to U.S. shows policy flaws : Iranian FM spokesman

TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said, “The actions that certain Western countries, particularly the U.S. and Britain, have been taking due to hostility toward our nation are futile and tested measures. Unfortunately Britain is showing the flaws in its foreign policy through blindly following the policies of U.S. officials. Everyone knows that the level of our trade and economic relations with Britain and the U.S. is the lowest it has ever been… Therefore, such measures and remarks are (part of the) media and psychological warfare campaign (against Iran).” “Such moves will have no impact on the movement of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its economic and trade behavior,” Mehmanparast stated. He added, “Over the past several months of the current year (the Iranian calendar started on March 21), we increased our trade relations with other countries by more than 36 percent… Such measures are condemned by our people and are ineffective and futile. It is interesting that the countries which are making such remarks are either on the brink of political and economic collapse or are about to experience it.”
