Kazakhstan assembles helicopters

Kazakhstan, Astana, Dec. 2 / Trend K. Konyrova / The Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering joint venture has assembled its first two EC 145 helicopters for the first time in the history of Kazakh engineering. This joint venture is a part of the Kazakhstan Engineering national company and test flights were also made. Kazakh Deputy Minister of Defence Sergei Gromov said that the Kazakh and the French presidents should be considered as being the originators of the project. They had previously signed several inter-state agreements including that of helicopter engineering. With this was born a new industry of domestic mechanical engineering. "We will assemble four more helicopters next week," Kazakhstan Engineering company president Bolat Smagulov said. The machine is a lightweight twin-engine helicopter and one of the most popular models in the world.
