Iran’s cement output exceeds 46 million tons over 8 months

TEHRAN, Dec.3 (MNA)--Iran produced 46.5 million tons of cement in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (ended on November 21), showing 9.6 percent rise compared to the same period last year. The output in the past calendar month stood at 5.2 million tons. Iran also produced some 45 million tons of clinker in the eight-month period, up 12.5 percent year on year. Previously, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari announced that the country's current cement production capacity stands at 74 million tons. Ghazanfari added that with the implementation of new projects the figure will reach 110 million tons by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2010-2015).
