Japanese directors to highlight Fukushima at Iran’s 100-second filmfest
TEHRAN,Dec. 3 (MNA) -- Japanese filmmakers will be attending the 2012 edition of Iran’s International 100-Second Film Festival with films focusing on natural disasters, and especially the Fukushima earthquake and nuclear disaster.
The filmmakers are participating in the festival in the different sections of animation, feature and documentary mainly focusing on natural disasters, First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Tehran Koichi Nakao said on Thursday.
Nakao met with the festival secretary Hossein Rabbani Gharibi where they discussed expansion of cultural relations between both countries.
Japanese people are highly interested in Iranian cinema and the embassy is making its best efforts to introduce the festival in the cinematic and cultural centers across Japan, he added.
The festival will be running for two days on February 23 and 24 with the collaboration of Tehran’s Art Bureau, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and several other organizations.
