Iran Navy plans to expand presence in open seas

TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (MNA) – Deputy Navy Commander Gholam Reza Khadem-Bigham announced on Sunday that the Iranian Navy plans to increase its presence in open seas. At the behest of the Supreme Leader, the Navy has dispatched 16 fleets of warships to international waters including the Red Sea, the north of the Indian Ocean, and the Gulf of Aden over the past two years. The Navy has also announced it plans to deploy naval vessels in the Atlantic Ocean near maritime borders of the United States.
