Iranian female reformist registers for parliamentary vote
TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – Former MP Soheila Jelodarzadeh on Wednesday registered for the parliamentary elections which will be held on March 2, 2012.
“I have not come to participate in the elections on behalf of the reformists,” she told reporters, adding that she represents the country’s female laborers and wants to support their rights.
Jelodarzadeh also said that her qualifications will “definitely” be approved by the Guardian Council.
Former MP Elaheh Rastgou also registered for the parliamentary vote on the same day and told reporters that reformists do not need a custodian, and “any reformist can take part in the elections based on the responsibility he or she feels.”
She also said that she believes the reformist movement will never cease to exist.
